| NewportFed is Signature Sponsor of
But For The Grace performance in Westerly |
NewportFed
donated $4000,00 to Leo Dery, President of the Bradford
Jonnycake Center of Westerly. The funds collected
benefit the food pantries of the Jonnycake Center
of Westerly, Jonnycake of Peace Dale and the kitchen
at the WARM Shelter. NewportFed is the signature
sponsor of But For The Grace, the play based on
interviews conducted at food pantries throughout
Rhode Island. This FREE performance will be at the
Babcock Hall of Westerly High School on Highland
Ave June 12 at 7 p.m. |

| NewportFed Hosts their First Community
Shred It Day on May 10, 2008. |
As
a way to help the community protect themselves from
identity theft and fraud, and to help the environment,
NewportFed offered its’ first Shred-It Day
on Saturday, May 10th from 9 -1 at three of their
locations, 165 East Main Road, Middletown, R.I.,
121 Old Tower Hill Road, Wakefield, R.I. and 8 Union
Street, Westerly, R.I. This was a Free event and
very well received by every community. The professional
shredding company Shred It was on hand with the
large shred it truck. “The community loved
it!” stated Kevin McCarthy, President of NewportFed,
who was on hand in Middletown, “This is a
winner for everyone, and we will continue to offer
these days every few months. Our customers, our
community and even our employees were shredding
and helping the community and the Earth! It’s
a win all around”. |

| NewportFed Has Donated $5,000.00
To The Aquidneck Island Planning Commission |
NewportFed
has donated $5,000.00 to the Aquidneck Island
Planning Commission which was the amount needed
to cover the Harvard University John F. Kennedy
School of Government “Community Problem
Solving workshop” they are attending March
3 – 6. “Kevin McCarthy, President
of NewportFed is definitely community-oriented,
and the Aquidneck Island Planning Commission is
the latest benefactor of his/their generosity.
Our broad-based Navy, State and Municipal coalition
is thankful for their support of our Harvard University
symposium in early March,” stated Tina Dolan,
Executive Director of the Aquidneck Island Planning
Commission.

| Kingston Hill Academy Needed An
American Flag And NewportFed Helped It Happen |
The
NewportFed Charitable Foundation donated to the
Kingston Hill Academy to enable them to purchase
a new American Flag and an air purifier for the
school. Kingston Hill Academy is a public (no
tuition) charter school located in South Kingstown,
Rhode Island. “The academy is an important
part of the South Kingstown area and it was a
pleasure to be able to help them out with their
needs.” Stated Ray Gilmore, Executive Vice
President, Chief Lending Officer at NewportFed.
“The school was able to purchase an American
Flag for the front lobby and an air purifier for
a classroom where there was a student with severe
asthma/allergies.”

| NewportFed Adopts A Family For
The Holidays |
The
staff of the Newport and Middletown offices of NewportFed
adopted a family from the Child & Family Adopt
a Family program for the 3rd year in a row. A total
of 30 employees from the 2 offices donated money
and their time and bought gifts for this family.
“This time of year it is so important to give
back, we enjoy the shopping and wrapping for such
special gifts.” stated Marie Cox, Vice President/Controller
at NewportFed. |

Awards Grant To Newport County YMCA |
The
NewportFed Charitable Foundation has donated $3,740.00
to the Newport County YMCA to help subsidize the
monthly scholarships for the after school child
care programs. The NewportFed Charitable Foundation
makes charitable contributions within our local
communities. The Foundation seeks to enhance the
quality of life for individuals supported by organizations
located in the communities served by NewportFed. |

for a Cause" team raised a total of $1,800
for The Potter League's Heart & Sole Walk for
the Animals |
Held
June 3, 2007, at Glen Park in Portsmouth RI, The
Heart & Sole Walk for the Animals is an amazing
community event celebrating the bond between people
and their pets while raising funds and awareness
for homeless animals in need.
This year our "NewportFed's Paws for a Cause"
team raised a total of $1,800, placing second
in the top fundraising team division...only missing
first place by $20. The Potter League raised slightly
over $60,000 for the event. |
